Ho Ho Ho, it’s time to make a Christmas list for Santa! I’m sure you’ve got a few of our products on your wishlist this year! Here are the most important things to put on your to-do list before the Christmas rush begins.

1. Prep Your Plants
When prepping for Christmas this year, it’s a good idea to make sure your plants, shrubs and trees are looking good for the guests. Walk around the garden and take a look at all your plants, making sure to prune them as you go, getting rid of any damaged, diseased or dead sections. We have a lot of tools to help you with this process, but the Stihl GTA 26 Battery Garden Pruner is definitely our number one pick for this task. Also make sure to prune all your trees and large shrubs, working your way down from the top. Lay down a tarp before you start to make the clean up easier. For hedges, make sure to only trim when the weather is mild, and to work from the bottom upwards on the sides. For the top of your hedges, hold the blades at an angle of less than 10 degrees to stop them catching on twigs and branches.

2. Take care of your lawn
Nothing is better than sitting by the pool with a beer, looking out at your freshly mowed lawn. To get your lawn looking radiant, make sure to do your edging first, and then mow. When mowing, make sure to take off nothing more than one third of the current grass height. This will keep your lawn fresh and full of moisture throughout the summer. If you’re looking for the best mower to give you a fresh Christmas cut, come in store and talk to one of us. We are guaranteed to find you one of the best Christmas presents you will ever receive.

3. Clean up before Christmas!
To keep that fresh, tidy look, you need to clean up all the excess debris, lawn clippings and leaves in your yard. The best way to do this is with one of our leaf blowers, like the BGA 57 Battery Blower or the BG 56 Petrol Blower. Make sure to plan ahead by looking at the weather and the time that works best in your neighbourhood. Designate a space to put your pile of leaves and debris and place a tarp underneath for an easier clean up. Make sure to work in one direction and keep the nozzle at a shallow angle.

4. Washing Wonderland
The next step for your Christmas outdoor makeover is to clean your outdoor surfaces. You can use a high-pressure cleaner to make your driveway, patio, decking and furniture sparkle! When cleaning furniture and wooden materials, make sure the water jets are not directly pointing at the timber to avoid damage. You can use a surface wash brush or a fan jet nozzle to get the job done and still have your surfaces sparkling. For metal objects with stubborn dirt, use the rotary nozzle. Make sure to get everything, including the clothesline, bins and letterbox, But remember, don’t waste too much water and follow your local water restrictions.

5. Decorations!
Everything should be tidy and sparkling, so now it’s time to jazz it up a little! Create a theme around the home and stick to it in the backyard. You can even get the family involved to help you decorate your outdoor space. Make sure to plan out your space and the decorations needed to have your guests in awe of your fresh, clean, tidy and now fun outdoor space! Happy decorating!
